Terms of Use
1. The service
Acalenta is a Christian devotional app: a daily word ("Today"), interactive prayers, guided meditations and a personal journal. It is provided by Filipe Gonçalves (Acalenta), Portugal — contact: support@acalenta.com.
2. What is free and what is Premium
Today — the daily word — is free, every day, with no time limit. The full path (interactive prayers, meditations, Answers, Paths, journal and progress) is part of the Acalenta Premium subscription.
3. Free trial and subscription
- New accounts receive 7 days of full access, free — no commitment.
- After the trial, full access requires a subscription (monthly or yearly), purchased through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in your App Store / Google Play account settings — access continues until the end of the period already paid.
- Prices are shown in the app before any purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under the respective store rules.
3-A. "Founder" status (pre-launch)
"Founder" status is granted to everyone who joins the launch list (with a confirmed email) before the official launch of the app. It is a promotional benefit: 50% off the first year of subscription, applied through the App Store / Google Play offer mechanisms under the conditions communicated in the launch email. After the first year, the subscription renews at the then-current regular price (cancellable at any time). The status does not confer any stake in Acalenta, any ownership right, any right over the app or its content, nor any right beyond the benefits expressly stated. It is granted on a first-come, first-served basis of confirmed sign-ups, involves no lottery or draw, and has no transferable monetary value.
4. Your account
Your account is created with your email and a sign-in code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email. You can delete your account and all data at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account and data).
5. Acceptable use
The app is intended for personal, devotional use. Copying, reselling or redistributing app content is not permitted, nor is any use that harms the service or other users.
6. Content and intellectual property
The devotional texts, animations, design and the Acalenta brand are protected by copyright. Biblical texts and the prayers of the Church's tradition belong to the common heritage of the faith. What you write in your journal is yours — and stays on your phone.
7. An important notice
Acalenta offers spiritual and devotional companionship. It does not replace professional medical, psychological or pastoral counselling. In a crisis, please seek professional help.
8. Warranties and liability
We work to keep the app reliable, but it is provided "as is", without absolute availability guarantees. To the extent permitted by law, liability for indirect damages is excluded. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer in the European Union.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms — significant changes will be communicated in the app. Portuguese law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules.
